Bring Clean Diaper

Yesterday as we were out and about Ellie gave me a VERY serious look and asked, "Bring clean diaper?" I responded, "Yes dear, do you need a clean diaper" and she responed, "Ellie poo poo"
Today we were playing with a new sorting toy with several different shapes. First she sorted the shapes by color. Then she learned the word octagon! She proceeded to pretend that the stacks of shapes were spouts like the spouts at the spray parks and pretended to dry off.
She really likes to steal noses. Lately the stuffed caterpillars have gotten involved in the retrieval of the lost noses. Also sometimes the noses go into bottled drinks, her mouth, get put on the wrong face, get put on the wrong direction, or get lost. (Note: when the noses get wet she makes sure to dry them off before returning them to our faces)
Her language and understanding is blossoming like crazy. Every time we read a book she remembers and understands more and more. It's a totally new experience every time.
She's getting way more social and confident too. She almost gave a little boy a hug the other day!
She loves for me to tell her stories about experiences we've had over the last few months.

Papa - especially his boat and his cat
Planes - the trip to Florida and the plane museum
Beach - our beach vacation
Emma - a girl we met at the park
Purple Park - a park we went to one time with a big purple slide and a pond
Bouncy House - a bouncy house at the rec center toddler time season finale.
Gaga Park - a spray park we visited
She gets really involved in the story and jumps in if I forgot something or she just wants to elaborate.
She's quite a little fish and is really enjoying swimming. She's reasonably cautious however and is eager to follow the rules.
She has a really cute habit of looking at me if she wants to do something and giving me a really cute look and saying, "OK?" Of course she beams when I say yes. When I say no she is happy to ask again, somehow managing to look cuter and cuter! We usually reach a compromise, but on the few occasions when I've had to put my foot down she has been quite reasonable. If only I could bottle this and save it for her teenage years!!!
Today she requested a ponytail after months of refusing to let me do anything to it!
Ah the love is just so crazy fun!
